Ever wanted to learn a song without first finding sheet music or hunting down the chords?

In this lesson, we use the Pirates of the Caribbean theme to explore a way of finding chords by ear. We start with the melody, walk through the six main chords of A minor, and try the possibilities until we hear what wants to support each phrase.

I am using a keyboard here because it makes the notes easy to see, but this way of learning works on harp, piano, guitar, or any instrument.

There is no need to get it perfect on the first try. Try a chord, listen, and let the melody help you find your way.
