The Story

Music has been my sanctuary since childhood—a place of healing, exploration, and inspiration. Growing up between Los Angeles and New York, I discovered early on that I was far more interested in creating my own arrangements than following someone else's notes on a page. At eight years old, I composed my first piece (a wild reimagining of Mary Had a Little Lamb), and I've been improvising ever since.

At fifteen, I journeyed to Israel and settled in the ancient city of Safed. I'd been captivated by stories of King David playing the harp to soothe the soul—the idea that music could heal, not just entertain. In 2014, I finally built my first harp, fulfilling a lifelong dream. I went on to build two more under the guidance of harp maker Rick Kemper, and the harp became my vessel for exploring improvisation, meditative music, and the ancient melodies I'd always been drawn to.

Today, I live in the Upper Galilee mountains with my wife and children. Together we create music as the Tzuf Family Band, welcoming visitors into our home for concerts and playing at weddings and festivals across Israel. I've also brought the harp into hospital settings, offering therapeutic bedside music to patients in need of comfort.

Through Strings of Hope, I teach harpists around the world—both online and at festivals like Somerset Folk Harp—focusing on improvisation, intuitive playing, Jewish and Middle Eastern melodies, and the healing landscapes of therapeutic modes. My approach is simple: learn to play from your heart, not just the page. Discover your unique inner melody. There are no wrong notes—only the music waiting to be born through you.

This is the work I love: building bridges between ancient traditions and modern souls, helping others find their voice on the harp, and creating space where music becomes a sanctuary for everyone who seeks it.

Welcome.
